Gives: Early growth-stage focus across healthtech, fintech, agritech, and edtech. Was the first institutional check in Eruditus. Led Shiprocket's Series C in 2018. About Bertelsmann India Investments

Bertelsmann India Investments (BII) is the India arm of Bertelsmann Investments, the venture capital platform of German media conglomerate Bertelsmann (founded 1835). Active in India since 2012, BII is a sector-agnostic venture capital fund investing directly from Bertelsmann's own balance sheet — not a traditional fund with external LPs and a fund-life clock — into early growth-stage tech startups.

Why Bertelsmann India Investments?

Balance-sheet investor backed by a 190-year-old global media conglomerate, not a traditional fund with an LP-driven exit clock — enables genuinely patient, long-term capital. First institutional investor in Eruditus, now a global online-education unicorn. Access to Bertelsmann's international network (RTL Group, Penguin Random House, BMG, Arvato) for portfolio companies with global ambitions.
